Elon Musk’s Boring Company Show Planned Map of Los Angeles Tunnel

Elon Musk new startup The Boring Company show planned map of Los Angeles tunnel. The purpose of the tunnel is to create underground transportation network.

The inspiration for The Boring Company is coming to Musk’s frustration with LA’s manifestly traffic. Operating beneath Interstate 105, the tunnels would hold large electric skates that could transport cars at speeds of up to 150 mph (241 km/h).

They reportedly already completed a 305-feet (100 meters) tunnel with an entrance in SpaceX’s parking lot in Hawthorne. And they have received the green light to extend the tunnel by 2 miles in Hawthorne toward the Los Angeles International Airport.

In October, Elon Musk said that the new section of the tunnel would be completed in 3 to 4 months.

The Boring Company filed the permit for new route excavation. which the company is now mentioning too as a 6.5-mile proof-of-concept tunnel.

According to Boring Company’s website “The tunnel would be used for construction logistics verification, system testing, safety testing, operating procedure verification, and line-switching demonstrations. Phase 1 would not be utilized for public transportation until the proof-of-concept tunnel is deemed successful by County government, City government, and The Boring Company. “

Musk also hopes to build tunnels in Chicago and between New York City and Washington, DC.
